How can I participate in the Beta?
You will be required to enter a CD Key for the Beta, much like you will when you get the full game this November. These PC keys will be available to all registered users of CallofDuty.com, including any new users who sign up after the PC Beta releases. These keys are not intended to limit the Beta to a certain number of players; they are just here to allow you to create these unique profile names for our Friends and Invite features.
How do I download and activate the Call of Duty: World at War Beta?
To participate in the beta, simply create an account, (or use your existing one), at CallofDuty.com. Once your account is created, you will be given a CD Key and a mirror link to download the install package. Once the download finishes, follow the installer instructions to activate your Call of Duty: World at War Beta.
- 1. Go to http://www.CallofDuty.com
- 2. Go to the upper-right corner of the site and sign-in on the dogtags.
- 3. Click the Account/Profile sub-tab of your profile.
- 4. Notice your CD Key for the PC Beta and the download mirror for the installer.
- 5. Download the installer and run the application.
- 6. Follow the installer instructions and enter your valid CD Key.
- 7. Finish installation and enjoy the Multiplayer Beta!
When will the Beta start and how long will it last?
The Beta is tentatively slated for the end of October and will conclude prior to the game’s November 11th launch. As soon as we approach the launch of the Beta, we will notify everyone who is eligible to participate.

Portal: Prelude is an unofficial prequel to the game Portal. Its story revolves around the pre-GlaDOS epoch, even before she was plugged in. At this time, test subjects were monitored by real Aperture Science employees whose work was tedious, lengthy and repetitive. This is why they decided to build a great artificial intelligence that could both replace them in these difficult tasks, but also take responsibility for many other tasks within the complex and compete with Black Mesa's superiority. The v1.0.0 is now locally mirrored at gamershell.com.
What do i need to be able to play Portal: Prelude?
In order to play Portal: Prelude you need to have Steam installed on your system, of course. You also need to be the owner of Portal and probably nothing else. Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, Day of Defeat Source or the Source SDK Base (which can be downloaded for free in the tools tab of Steam) may be of some use, but we don't think so. In fact, I'm not really sure you need anything else than Portal.

About Version 2.0 (Public Beta):
- AW v2.0 is Stand Alone, like AW v1.x, which means you need original JO:TR installed to install it.
- You just have to tell the Installer where to install it, the rest all is been taking care automatically.
- You can´t install AW v2.0 into your JO Folder or the old AW v1.x Installation, for security reasons, the Installer won´t allow it.
- You can run JO:TR, JO:ESC and DFX Maps with AW v2.0
- DFX Coop maps will work too, but because of things that were changed in original DFX, the spawn waypoints don´t work. Only the first spawn works. So you can still play them, but its kinda harder a bit.
